Death by Adaptation Podcast - Episode 06: The Grinch & The Godfather

Death by Adaptation Podcast

Death By Adaptation is Clapper’s monthly book club, where a group of cinephiles and bibliophiles meets up to discuss new and classic books and their cinematic adaptations, focusing on historical relevance, fun pieces of trivia, and how distinctly different the written and visual art forms are.

In this episode, we discuss the classic Dr Seuss children’s book How the Grinch Stole Christmas, focusing on the delightful 1966 cartoon, and the 2018 downgrade by Illumination Entertainment. Then, we talked about the mafia epic The Godfather written by Mario Puzo, analysing Francis Ford Coppola’s adaptation and its legendary status as one of the greatest films of all time.
