The Uncut Gems Podcast - Episode 78 (Jaws Sequels and Orca)

The Uncut Gems Podcast

The Uncut Gems Podcast is a show where a bunch of like-minded individuals gather around a virtual table to discuss films that for one reason or another have become forgotten. Tongues pressed firmly in cheek, the team don their film historian top hats and rant from sedentary positions to hopefully conclude whether the film in question deserves to be covered by sands of time or if it is a classic in dire need of attention.

In this behemoth of a show we are putting a bow on our Animal Attack Summer series by talking about not one, not two, not three, but four movies, including ALL Jaws sequels (Jaws 2, Jaws 3-D, and Jaws: The Revenge) as well as one of the earliest and most direct ripoffs of the 1975 classic, the 1977 Orca - The Killer Whale. Joined by a special guest MJ Smith, host of Let's Jaws For a Minute podcast, we talked about the legacy of Jaws, the pitfalls of pandering to the original, the ridiculousness of the 3D gimmick, roaring sharks, an orca John Wick, and much more!
