The Uncut Gems Podcast - Episode 75 (Anaconda and Lake Placid vs Anaconda)

The Uncut Gems Podcast

The Uncut Gems Podcast is a show where a bunch of like-minded individuals gather around a virtual table to discuss films that for one reason or another have become forgotten. Tongues pressed firmly in cheek, the team don their film historian top hats and rant from sedentary positions to hopefully conclude whether the film in question deserves to be covered by sands of time or if it is a classic in dire need of attention.

In this episode of the show we are launching our brand new four-episode series titled Animal Attack Summer where each week we will talk about at least two movies about dangerous animals squaring off against unsuspecting people! This week we are talking about snakes (and a little bit about crocodiles) as we are taking on the 1997 Anaconda together with the fifth sequel in this franchise, a crossover with the Lake Placid series, a made-for-Syfy Lake Placid vs Anaconda. Over the course of our discussion you will hear us talk about Jon Voight's accent, the legacy of Jaws making its way into the 90s, J-Lo's budding acting career, the notion of so-bad-it's-good filmmaking, half-nude women screaming in a forest, Robert Englund's late-career stints and much more!

Tune in, follow, like and subscribe at your podcatcher of choice and be sure to follow the show on Twitter and Instagram as well! You can also support the show on Ko-fi! Also, be sure to subscribe to our Patreon for more exclusive podcasts.
