The Uncut Gems Podcast - Episode 57 (Cats)

The Uncut Gems Podcast

The Uncut Gems Podcast is a show where a bunch of like-minded individuals gather around a virtual table to discuss films that for one reason or another have become forgotten. Tongues pressed firmly in cheek, the team don their film historian top hats and rant from sedentary positions to hopefully conclude whether the film in question deserves to be covered by sands of time or if it is a classic in dire need of attention.

In this episode of the show we are joined by Carson Timar and Kyle Krieghbaum in what turned out to be one bizarro chat about Tom Hooper's infamous adaptation of Cats. Over the course of our discussion that eventually veers off the rails you will hear us argue about what went wrong with the production of the film, whether it was the right decision to make Cats realistic, if the film should be enjoyed with all its flaws as a camp experience, and whether it was just the right kind of escapism for the difficult times of the pandemic. That's in addition to a multitude of barbs, jibes and taunts that often decorate some of our more heated conversations!

Tune in, follow, like and subscribe at your podcatcher of choice and be sure to follow the show on Twitter and Instagram as well! You can also support the show on Ko-fi! Also, be sure to subscribe to our brand new Patreon for more exclusive podcasts.
